Kieran Orr

Kieran joined the Chueh Group as a Stanford Energy Postdoctoral Fellow from his native United Kingdom in July 2024. On the other side of the Atlantic he previously completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge researching halide perovskites for solar energy applications with Prof. Sam Stranks. Here in Stanford, and working in conjunction with the Lindenberg Group he’ll be using ultra-fast X-ray diffraction and spectroscopic methods to try to better understand the structure of the ion-hopping transition state in solid electrolytes. Outside of the office, Kieran will often be reading, enjoying the outdoors, or cooking to the soundtrack of funk and soul hits!
