Adrian Yao

Graduate Student
The Chueh Group

Adrian joined the Chueh group in September 2022 after having served as the Co-founder and CTO of a Li-ion battery startup (EnPower, Inc.) for 8-years. As the company transitions into large-scale production (~1 GWh/y) of advanced Li-ion cells in Indianapolis, IN, Adrian is returning to get his graduate degree in Materials Science & Engineering and turning his focus towards grid-scale, long-duration storage batteries. Outside of lab/work, he enjoys machining, painting, playing guitar, and adventuring with his Husky-malamute.

Education

B.S., Materials Science and Engineering, Rice University (2014)
