Katherine Harmon

The Chueh Group

Katherine joined the Chueh group in February 2024 after completing a Maria Goeppert Mayer Fellowship at Argonne National Laboratory where she carried out in situ X-ray studies of nanocatalysts and of quantum materials synthesis. She completed her Ph.D. in Applied physics at Northwestern University/Argonne National Lab where she studied electrochemical interactions at solid/water interfaces. In the Chueh Group, she is developing in situ/operando synchrotron X-ray and XFEL methods to characterize interfacial phenomena in various electrochemical materials. Outside the lab, Katherine enjoys hiking, biking, cooking with her husband, playing board games, and spending time with her two purrfect cats.

Education

Ph.D., Applied Physics, Northwestern University (2021)
