High Energy Batteries
Developing batteries with high energy densities is critical for the electrification of vehicles in more sectors of transportation. This calls for battery technologies beyond the conventional liquid electrolyte lithium-ion batteries to meet the performance demand. At the SLAC-Stanford battery center, we investigate to address the current bottlenecks of future generations of high energy batteries, including lithium-ion batteries with on anion-redox electrodes, lithium metal batteries, solid-state batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries, and beyond.
